Background

1994 - 2000
The company ARION Laboratories was founded in 1994 by Dr. Ingrid Arion and its current president Jean Claude Arion. Supported by Henry Gilbert Arion, surgeon inventor of inflatable breast implants in 1965, the company Laboratoires Arion already has an experience of 30 years in research and clinical trials that allow it to be at the forefront of technology and safety of breast implants. During this period, Laboratories Arion developed implants containing saline or CMC hydrogel. The Scientific Board of Laboratories Arion believes that silicone gel implants of older generation still do not offer enough safety for the patients (insufficient cohesiveness of silicone gels, envelopes prone to perspiration, structural weakness at the level of occlusion discs). The older generation silicone gel implants are further prohibited in the United States and were prohibited in France from 1995 to 2001.

The years 2000 - 2010
During this decade, all technologies relating to breast implants have evolved significantly. Laboratoires Arion have validated scientific tests of human biocompatibility and non-toxicity of CMC hydrogels (initial experiments conducted by Dr. Henri Gilbert Arion date from 1984?). Laboratoires Arion have also fully integrated in their entire range the exclusive concept of Monobloc, autogenous welding of occlusion discs on multilayer envelopes of implants.
The quality of medical silicone gels has also greatly progressed (cohesiveness, purity of the raw material supplied by Nusil and FDA-approved), enabling the Laboratoires Arion to finally develop a range of silicone gel implants of the latest generation that also take advantage of the Monobloc exclusive sealing system.
